Learning Works, West Herts College
The Background
Learning Works is a training company specialising in business skills and safety at work. A commercial subsidiary of West Herts College, in Watford, it has been expanding fast since its launch early in 2008.
The Brief
Actual were asked to find a Business Development Executive, Sales Executive and a Sales Administrator to help build the operation and lead the team at the Learning Works. The Sales Executive would need a good background in sales, preferably in a training capacity, tenacity, and entrepreneurial flair. The administrator would need great organisational skills, be hands on and flexible.
The Solution
Actual advertised on over 60 UK online job boards for both roles, handling all incoming applications and filtering them against agreed criteria. The best candidates were screened using telephone interviews and passed on to the college for further face to face interviews.
Both roles attracted more than 50 CVs each, and Actual had to act quickly to contact and interview the best candidates in a fast-moving job market.
The Results
As a result of Actual's work, three Sales professionals were employed by Learning Works. Crucially, Actual saved West Herts College 69% off the fee that a traditional recruitment consultancy (charging 15% of salary) would have billed for the same roles.
