The role
Working with the core development team, you will be working on new features and releases to existing websites for a variety of our clients. These websites range from e-commerce applications, CMS and interactive websites.

This role includes:

  • Development of .NET, C#, XML and web services
  • Use of varied technologies, including but not limited to XML, C#, COM, ASP, ASP.NET, HTML and Java Script
  • Using these technologies and products to dynamically interact with SQL databases - mainly MS SQL Server 2005
  • Management of small projects involving client liaison, understanding a client's business objectives
  • Multi-tasking and prioritising workload
  • Problem solving
  • Ensuring your projects and tasks are delivered to specification and on time

The opportunity
As a member of our established development team, you will have the opportunity to co-ordinate several website enhancement projects within your first year. You’ll establish relationships with key customers, and then work to improve their existing website. In addition you’ll learn from and contribute to our in-house code library, and regularly bring new technical ideas to the team.

Your experience
The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in programming techniques and theories, including object orientated programming.

You’ll have experience of liaising with customers, managing several web development projects simultaneously and be used to working alone when necessary.

What will give you a distinct advantage:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years hands-on experience of web application development
  • Strong programming experience, specifically at least 2 years developing with .NET, C#, XML and web services
  • Experience developing/maintaining large e-commerce and CMS applications
  • An eye for detail and high quality standards

  • An ability to spot commercial opportunities for web development
  • Computer science or related degree

Sales & Marketing Executive / Business Development Manager – Education & Training
£30,000 basic (£40,000 OTE)

Our client, Chelmsford College , is one of the most well-respected and successful Colleges in the South East. They are seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Sales & Marketing professional to join their newly created commercial division as Sales Executive/Business Development Manager.

This is a highly consultative role, establishing clients' needs and providing training solutions based on the current portfolio. Commercial training services include general courses such as Professional Development and more job-specific courses such as Accountancy and Construction.

The main focus of the Sales Executive/Business Development Manager role will be to generate additional full cost income to the College, through the promotion of a diverse portfolio of courses to individuals and businesses. Duties will include:

  • Planning and managing direct sales activities in order to achieve agreed sales and costs targets
  • Developing customer contact and marketing to support achievement of business aims
  • Developing and maintaining sales leads and customer records
  • Carrying out market research and development
  • Developing a business plan and full cost course strategy in conjunction with the Head of Faculty and Director of Finance

This role is as much about forging links, networking and promotion as it is about selling, so the successful applicant will be an excellent communicator with an outgoing nature. You will be required to familiarise yourself with the products on offer by the College, and to use your knowledge to tailor the training solution to the customer.

With experience of business development or sales, ideally in education and training, you should have a proven track record of success in a sales/marketing environment. Having managed small to medium sized accounts dealing with senior executives, the Sales Executive/Business Development Manager will have a track record as a strong communicator and team player with excellent presentation skills. You will also possess tenacity, a ‘self-start' attitude and an entrepreneurial flair. With a good level of education, you will hold a recognised marketing/sales qualification or recognised management qualification with sales or marketing content.

This position offers an opportunity to develop your sales skills, be at the heart of a successful team and gain real hands-on experience of modern further education skills delivery. The successful person will be able to make the role completely their own.
